I’ve been trying to get back on the sewing horse and made this dress for my little girl. It’s reversible, twill on one side and a floral print cotton on the other. Inspired by spring, and a cherry blossom pillow in my daughter’s room, I decided to sew cherry blossom appliqués on the dress. I made the cherry blossoms from a really soft bamboo felt.
And I made this placemat. It’s still in its prototype phase and think it needs to be stiffer. I might use a thicker denim or double layer it with canvas or interfacing. I like the idea of slots for utensils. How do you like it?
Love both. Especially love the contrast stitching.
The dress is so adorable. Very “spring”. I think the utensil holder placemat is perfect for picnics. Just roll out and eat.
